The Development of National and Domestic Bread Wheat Varieties with the Use of Ancestry Seeds

Tekfen Tarım received an award in the "cooperation" category of the 7th Sustainable Business Awards for its collaboration with Çukurova University on the project titled "The Development of National and Domestic Bread Wheat Varieties with the Use of Ancestry Seeds".

Aware of the importance of the use of certified seeds in improving yield and quality in wheat production, the process started in 1999 with the importation of certified seeds under the umbrella of Toros Tarım, and bore fruit in the form of certified bread wheat seeds thanks to the collaboration with the Çukurova University in 2009.

Tekfen Tarım was in the finals with 6 projects in 4 categories and received an award in the "cooperation" category that has the highest number of applications, which was also gratifying. The award is dedicated to our colleague Özer Mehmet Türel, who made great contributions to this long-term journey and left us shattered with his untimely passing.
